Pet Canine Physical Rehabilitation
Canine physical rehabilitation is an emerging field in veterinary medicine. Just as in human medicine, rehabilitation has been shown to improve mobility after surgery, decrease pain, increase strength, and speed healing.
At Riverbend Animal Hospital, all our orthopedic patients have some form of physical rehabilitation post-op. At the patient’s first recheck two weeks post-surgery, owners are shown proper physical therapy techniques by our Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP). They are given individualized instructions for continuing at home.
Those clients who wish can also sign up for further sessions at Riverbend Animal Hospital. Our equipment includes a canine treadmill, wobble board, rocker board, balance pad, physioballs, leg weights, hurdles, resistance bands, and a giant disc.
