Pet Liver & Spleen Surgery in Hadley, MA
Here at Riverbend Animal Hospital we perform a variety of liver & spleen surgeries to keep your pet happy and healthy.
Pet Liver & Spleen Surgery
In this surgery, a diseased portion of the liver is removed. We use stapling devices to minimize bleeding and decrease surgery time.
Porto-Systemic Shunt Repair
Porto-systemic shunts are a congenital condition in which blood from the small intestines, colon, or spleen bypasses the liver. Surgery is performed to close off the shunting vessel and redirect the blood back to the liver.
Bile Duct Surgery
This surgery may include removal of a diseased gall bladder, removal of a stone from the bile duct, or diversion of bile flow from the gall bladder directly to the intestine.
This is a common procedure undertaken usually to treat a mass on the spleen. The whole spleen is removed.
