Thoracic Surgery

Lung Lobectomy
Lung lobes may need to be removed if diseased. Most commonly we remove lung lobes in treating cancer. Stapling devices are used for this to minimize bleeding as well as decrease surgery time and complications.

PDA and PRAA Repair
These conditions result from a congenital malformation of blood vessels around the heart. Surgery involves ligating the patent ductus (in the PDA) or cutting the persistent remnant of the ductus (in the PRAA).

Pericardectomy
In this procedure a portion of the pericardial sac around the heart is excised. It is utilized most commonly to relieve pressure from blood or fluid around the heart.

“The communication, education and attention given to the pet owners before, during and after the surgery is so appreciated by our family.”

Lee Ann, Union, CT

“You can tell they love animals and this isn’t just a job. They care about the pets and the owners, and it shows through their work. I got many calls from Dr. White to check up on my sick kitty and see how we were all doing.”
