Reproductive System Surgery

OVH
We recommend all dogs and cats be spayed before their third heat period in order to protect against mammary cancer in the future. In our hospital, we also perform a large number of more involved spays including pyometra surgery, spays of geriatric and overweight animals, and surgery for treatment of cancer of the female reproductive system.

Castration
We recommend neutering dogs before one year of age to minimize behavioral issues and avoid prostate disease down the road. Our veterinarians perform a large number of more involved castrations as well, including cryptorchid castrations and surgery for treatment of cancer of male reproductive system.

“I asked my mom to write and tell you how much I enjoyed meeting you today. Thanks for being so nice to me. I can’t wait to see you again. Purr, purr, purr!”

Lucy and Julie, Holyoke

Magic could hardly wait to burst through the door to see you…a true testament to the kindness and care she got at Riverbend. Thank you for being such an amazing bunch…to Magic and to me.
