Nutrition & Weight Consultation

Good nutrition is vital for your pet’s health. Because every pet has his or her very own metabolism, activity level and sensitivity to foods, it is very important to feed based upon the needs of the individual pet for optimal body condition and health.

The way an animal carries weight is much more valuable information than the number on the scale. Being even a little overweight can lead to many problems including arthritis, diabetes, lung disease, decreased energy, and a shortened lifespan. We will assess and explain your pet’s “body condition score” so you may monitor this at home. We will review your pet’s daily intake of food and may recommend a different type or quantity of food to manage their weight and nutrition.

Often we see food allergies in cats and dogs. We may recommend allergy testing, medication, or a different type of food for your pet. There are many food options, diets, and meal plans available. Our goal is to keep your pet happy and healthy.
